Speculative Literature Foundation LogoGUD is a proud member of the  Speculative Literature Foundation. We'd like to take a moment to tell you about them--or let them introduce themselves, really.

Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror are generally considered the bastard children of good literature. And every good bastard needs a home.

We are the Speculative Literature Foundation: The ultimate recourse for writers of speculative literature.

If you are stranded on a far-away shore with the Lilliputians threatening to pluck out your eyes, we will send you $600 dollars to come back and tell your story with the Gulliver Travel Grant. Send in your application to us by September 30th, 2009 and we’ll announce the winner October 15, 2009.

If you are over 50 and suffer from the fantastic visions of old age, we offer $750 with the Older Writers' Grant to help you embark on your professional career as a speculative writer. We accept submissions every year from January 1st to March 31st.

And if you are a beginning writer looking to gain valuable advice from more experienced writers about craft, the business of writing, and how to create Lilliputians, we have a Mentorship Program. Our award-winning mentors have published in McSweeny’s, Asimov’s, and the Washington Post.

Please check out our website www.speculativeliterature.org for more details.
