ARGH! Downtime =/

This was not a good day. 1and1 had a switch failure, and they were very lackadaisical about doing anything about it, it seems. They were supposed to contact me when it was resolved, and didn't. I was able to keep tabs on what they did on my server a little bit (nothing--rebooted it once at the start of my support call, which had no effect). Finally got the answer that they'd replaced a switch and stuff should have been back up (at which point I could go in, reboot, and actually get to fixing things again).

Today... this week... oy. I am tired of the suck.

Anyway, apologies and somewhat of an explanation.

Also, they warned that servers would be moving facilities, from somewhere in NJ to KS. They didn't give any sort of time frame for this other than "in the next few months". Hopefully I'll be able to give you more warning on that, when it's about to happen.

That's one thing to be said for a cloud service versus hardware-locked systems...

I don't have a clue as to what any of this means. But I empathize with things being down, and the same thing is happening over at our place. It is FRUSTRATING! I'll write a comment about a piece of slush that I just read, and BOOM, the site is down. I don't know much about computers...I just figured the little elves were angry and I need to offer them more sacrifices.
