News: Your influence on the world of written fiction?

Tuesday, November 13, 2007

NOTE: Do you "Buy" short fiction is intended to mean as an end-user, not as a publisher.  It is meant to include collections of short fiction, magazines that contain short fiction, new or used.

This is sort of a follow-up to "The Life and Times of a Startup Magazine". In addition to that, you might enjoy Jason Stoddard's recent blogpost, "What do you hate most about short science fiction?".  It's often posited that there are more writers of science fiction than there are readers.  I presume this poll will skew that direction given our user base, but I'd love to get as wide a response as possible.  And if you have other suggestions to poll on, ideas on how to split up the responses for a follow-up poll, I'd love to hear them. :)

And some good discussion on Mary Robinette Kowal's blog!

If you've seen some good public discussion on this, I'd love a link!  There's been interesting stuff said in private discussions on a number of writing websites, including-but-not-limited-to scrawl, zoetrope, absolutewrite, and bksp (backspace).

- reddit, digg, facebook, stumbleupon, etc... please! ;)
